About the Speaker
Sara David, Founder & CEO Living Child Inc.
As a midwife, Sara was invited to the village of Yamen in remote East Sepik Province of Papua New Guinea. Church leader, Pastor Yabru Jerry was very concerned about the high number of mothers dying in the villages he visited due to a lack of health services. The request in 2011 was for a midwife to train their village birth attendants to save lives. The first outreach trip occurred in August 2012.
Living Child aims to reduce the maternal and infant death-rate in remote villages of Papua New Guinea by providing training, visual teaching aids and birthing kits to Midwives & Village Birth Attendants.
Sara lives in Perth. She is married to Richard and has two sons.
